IKO Roof Repair in Los Angeles: What to Know First

IKO roof repair in Los Angeles typically runs between $350 and $900 for most shingle and flashing repairs, and we finish the majority of these jobs in a single visit. We’re an independent IKO service provider, which means we repair what’s on your roof without pushing you toward a brand you didn’t choose. If you own an IKO roof in Los Angeles and something’s leaking, lifting, or just looks wrong, call (945) 303-9821 and we’ll give you a written price before the first tile or shingle moves.

This page is for homeowners across Los Angeles who bought IKO shingles because they wanted solid protection without paying premium brand markup, and now need a repair crew that actually knows how those shingles behave in our climate. That’s what we do.

How IKO Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

  • Cambridge shingle granule loss and cupping. The Cambridge line is IKO’s most common architectural shingle in Los Angeles, and the failure we see most is premature granule shedding, especially on south-facing and west-facing slopes that take full sun. The shingles lose their protective surface and start cupping at the edges. What’s actually happening is the asphalt mat underneath is oxidizing faster than the shingle’s design anticipated, and once it starts, patchwork won’t stop it. We replace the failing shingles with properly color-matched Cambridge stock, and we check the surrounding runs for shingles that are about to follow.
  • Marathon shingles cracking along the nail line. Marathon is IKO’s premium architectural line, heavier and generally reliable, but in Los Angeles we see a specific pattern on older installations: hairline cracks running through the nail strip. This comes from nails driven too deep at installation, combined with years of thermal movement. In L.A., an 80-degree afternoon can follow a 45-degree night, and shingles expand and contract more than people realize. We remove the cracked shingles, replace them with new Marathon units, and adjust the fastening pattern so the problem doesn’t come back in the same spots.
  • IKO flashing failures at roof-to-wall transitions and chimneys. Branded shingles don’t fail in isolation. On IKO roofs in Los Angeles, we regularly find step flashing that was never properly integrated with the shingles or was bent out of shape by our seasonal Santa Ana winds. Water gets behind the flashing and runs down the wall or along the decking. The fix is removing the affected shingles, installing new step flashing laced correctly into each course, and checking the counterflashing above it. We smoke-test the area before we call it done.
  • IKO hip and ridge cap lifting in high-wind corridors. Los Angeles neighborhoods near the foothills, in the canyons, and through the passes get wind gusts that tear cap shingles loose. On IKO roofs, the cap shingles are often installed with the same nails as the field, but the cap sees far more lift force. We reset or replace the lifted cap run, overlapping the joints correctly, and we look for any field shingles that started lifting near the hips and ridges, because they’re next.
  • Valley leaks tied to IKO shingle seal-strip failure. The valley is the point where two roof planes meet and channel the most water. On IKO installations, we see valley leaks that trace back to shingles whose seal strip was broken during installation or compromised by heat, so the shingle tabs never sealed to the row below. That leaves a gap for wind-driven rain. The fix is careful tab reattachment with compatible adhesive when the material is sound, and shingle replacement when it isn’t. No generic patch over the top, which is what we typically see from the last guy.

Our IKO Roof Repair Process

  1. 1
You call, a person answers. That’s a live person, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. No voicemail and no callback queue. Tell us what you’re seeing: leaks, lifted shingles, granules in the gutter, a soft spot. We’ll ask the right questions and set a window for the visit.
  2. 2
We inspect the roof and write the price. We get on the roof and look at the actual condition of the IKO shingles, the flashing, the underlayment, and the decking. Then we hand you a written price, and that’s the number. If we find more than we expected once we start, we stop and talk to you before it becomes a bill. The Kingswell Way is say the price before the work, and that’s not a sales line, it’s policy.
  3. 3
We decide on parts: IKO or quality aftermarket. When an IKO line is discontinued or backordered, we quote you the aftermarket equivalent and tell you exactly why it matches. When the OEM shingle is available, we use it. For flashing and ventilation components, we match the existing metal and material to keep the repair compatible with the IKO warranty and the rest of the roof system.
  4. 4
We do the repair in one visit. Whether it’s a handful of Cambridge shingles, a valley rebuild, or a vent boot that’s rotted through, we bring what we need and complete the repair that day. We work clean, and we don’t leave old shingles scattered across your yard.
  5. 5
We test the repair and leave a written guarantee. We water-test the repair when practical and visually confirm it’s correct. Before we leave, you get a written guarantee that covers the repair. If it fails inside the guarantee period, we come back and correct it at no charge under our 365-Day Done Right Promise.

What IKO Roof Repair Costs in Los Angeles

Most IKO roof repairs in Los Angeles fall into these ranges: a single shingle replacement or small patch on a Cambridge roof runs $350 to $550, a typical flashing repair runs $450 to $750, valley rebuilds and vent boot replacements run $500 to $900, and flat roof patches on IKO-modified or installed systems run $400 to $850 depending on the membrane condition. Larger repairs, where water has damaged the decking or underlayment over a wider area, can run higher, and we’ll show you why in writing before anything starts.

What moves the price is location on the roof, how much decking or underlayment needs to come out, and whether the existing shingles can be matched or need full replacement. We don’t charge hidden fees, and our price doesn’t change once work starts unless you approve it. Call (945) 303-9821 for a free estimate, and we’ll give you the real number for your house.
