AfterRoofers in Wrightwood, CA
Roofing in Wrightwood demands a mountain-town skill set that most Los Angeles County roofers never develop. At roughly 6,000 feet in the San Gabriel Mountains, Wrightwood sits in a CAL FIRE Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone requiring Class A fire-rated materials while also facing genuine structural snow loads above 50 psf and punishing freeze-thaw cycles that tear apart flashings and ridge caps. We dispatch crews from our Los Angeles office who carry both the fire-rated material certifications and the ice-and-water shield experience that Wrightwood’s A-frame cabins and steep gables require. Call (945) 303-9821 to schedule your free estimate.
Why Wrightwood Homes Are Different
Wrightwood’s housing stock is dominated by A-frame and steep-gabled vacation cabins built between the 1940s and 1970s, when the area developed as a ski retreat around Mountain High resort. Many still carry original wood-shake or early composite roofs that predate California’s current VHFHZ fire-rated roofing mandates, leaving them out of compliance for any new work or sale. Year-round residents have converted increasing numbers of these seasonal cabins, but the structural bones remain mid-century, including low-overhang eaves that trap meltwater and refreeze it after dark.
The climate at this elevation creates problems almost unknown in the LA Basin below. Wrightwood averages over 50 inches of annual snowfall, and the daily freeze-thaw cycle, driven by intense high-altitude sun followed by sub-freezing nights, stresses every penetration and seam. Summer brings UV radiation that degrades asphalt shingle granules measurably faster than at sea level, shortening effective lifespans by years. Crews working the Big Pines Highway corridor routinely find ice-damaged decking that would be unthinkable in Victorville or Palmdale, and the steep pitches that give these cabins their charm require specialized fall-protection rigging that adds labor hours to every job.
Our Main Wrightwood Services
Most calls we field from Wrightwood fall into two categories: stopping an active leak before the next storm, or replacing a roof that has reached the end of its service life under mountain conditions. Each service has its own dedicated Wrightwood page with full detail.
Roofing Company in Wrightwood
As a roofing company in Wrightwood, we handle everything from emergency tarping after wind events to full architectural consultations on material upgrades that satisfy both CAL FIRE VHFHZ requirements and the structural load limits of mid-century cabin framing. Our crews arrive with GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning, Atlas, Tamko, and Boral samples in hand, because Wrightwood’s dual compliance burden means the right product isn’t always the one in the truck.
Roof Repair in Wrightwood
Mountain repairs demand more than patching a shingle. Ice dams along uninsulated eave overhangs, a chronic failure mode near Big Pines Highway, require full ice-and-water shield underlayment replacement that valley roofers rarely spec. Our roof repair in Wrightwood includes written guarantees before the crew leaves, and if the repair fails inside the guarantee period, we return at no charge under our 365-Day Done Right Promise.
Roof Replacement in Wrightwood
Full replacement on a Wrightwood A-frame means managing structural snow load upgrades, Class A fire-rated material selection, and the logistical challenge of steep-pitch tear-off at elevation. We pull all permits, coordinate inspections, and deliver a written fixed price before any work starts. See our full process for roof replacement in Wrightwood.

Brands We Service in Wrightwood
We stock and install materials from seven leading manufacturers: GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning, IKO, Atlas, Tamko, and Boral. For Wrightwood’s VHFHZ compliance, we typically spec GAF Timberline HDZ or Atlas StormMaster Slate for fire rating plus impact resistance, with Boral concrete tile where structural loads permit. Most brand-specific parts ship to our Los Angeles office within 24-48 hours, and we verify fire-rating documentation before the crew loads the truck.

FAQs About Roofers in Wrightwood
Yes. San Bernardino County requires permits for all roof replacements and most structural repairs in Wrightwood’s VHFHZ, with inspections to verify Class A fire-rated material installation. We pull every permit and schedule every inspection as part of our standard process. Call (945) 303-9821 and we’ll confirm exactly what your project requires.
We work year-round, but heavy snowpack and ice accumulation on steep A-frame pitches can delay tear-offs for safety reasons. We schedule flexible windows and provide emergency tarping when active leaks threaten interior damage. Call (945) 303-9821 to discuss timing for your specific situation.
Victorville sits below 3,000 feet with no VHFHZ designation and minimal snow load; standard materials and flat-access labor apply. Wrightwood’s elevation requires Class A fire-rated products, structural load calculations, steep-pitch safety equipment, and ice-and-water shield details that simply don’t exist on desert jobs. Our written quotes itemize every Wrightwood-specific requirement so you see exactly where the difference lies. Call (945) 303-9821 for your detailed estimate.

What Wrightwood Customers Say
"Called about a few missing shingles after a windy night. They came out, fixed it, and didn't try to turn it into a huge project. Charged exactly what was quoted. Refreshing."
- Stephanie R."They repaired a spot that another company had "fixed" twice. Tilehurst found what the others missed and it finally stopped leaking. Should have called them first."
- Denise Ackerman"Full replacement after the last hail storm. They wrote up everything, worked with my insurance, and the crew cleaned the yard so well I couldn't find a single nail. Done in two days like they said."
